*Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS)
PBIS is the Implementation framework for maximizing the selection and use of evidence-based prevention
and intervention practices along a multi-tiered continuum that supports the academic, social, emotional,
and behavioral competence of all students.
PBIS is intended to:
Reduce major disciplinary infractions, antisocial behavior, and substance abuse.
Reduce aggressive behavior and improve in emotional regulation.
Improve in academic engagement and achievement.
Improve the general perception of the school's health and school safety.
Reduce bullying behavior and victimization.
Framework for behavioral intervention
1st level of intervention verbal warning
when classes resume at EPHS:
if a student is caught using a cell phone during an assessment, the student will receive a zero for that assignment without the possibility of make up (try to avoid this)
2nd level of intervention documentation of the student's actions (this will include a student-teacher conference)
3rd level of intervention parent contact and possibly a student discipline referral
a conduct grade of "U"
when classes resume at EPHS:
4th level of intervention administrative discipline referral

Classroom Rules and consequences
these rules/consequences will be in place when classes resume @EPHS
My classroom rules are in place to ensure that my room is a secure, clean learning
environment where all students feel comfortable without distractions
Get to class on time.
Respect others by not using vulgar language or profanities in class. If you use a profanity, I will ask you not to use that type of language.
If you continue, then I will have to begin documenting your actions and in order to apply the district's PBIS (behavioral intervention)*
Food is not allowed in my room. Also, the selling of food is not allowed. Some students repeatedly come late to class with food-especially
after lunch. I will not allow you eat the food in my room-you will have to put it on a table away from the other students.
The textbook for this class is the district issued lap top computer. You must bring your lap top to class. If a student does not bring a lap top to class, then they cannot be given credit for that day's assignment. A cell phone is not a substitute for a laptop.
Do not put your head on your desk. You should not sleep during class time.
If you leave the room to use the restroom, you should try to return as quickly as possible. If you plan on using the restroom,
do not bring a cell phone with you. I will ask you to place it on my desk before you go.
restroom breaks are a complicated issue during the pandemic so the rules are likely to change
Again, if you continue, then I will have to begin documenting your actions and in order to apply the district's PBIS (behavioral intervention)*
Cell Phones are not used in my classroom.
I want to make sure we are clear on this issue. If you have a cell phone, keep it in your locker or your pack back.
If I see you using a cell phone in my class, I will ask you to put it away. If you continue, I am required to contact your parents.
If you are caught using your phone during an assessment, then your will receive a CH in the grade book. (CH means cheating)
